Justin has jumped the shark

Like with most things, a sincere acceptance of culpability and an apology likely would have washed the SNC-Lavalin scandal away.

People like moments when other people genuinely admit their humanity: "I made a mistake."

Justin Trudeau doesn't know how to do that. We've all noted that he is an ace at apologizing for the wrongs of others, the problem is, he has no ability to see wrongs committed my himself.

Whether it was his upbringing, or whether its a character flaw, Justin Trudeau believes Justin Trudeau is always right, otherwise, actor that he is, he'd have been able to feign a competent enough sorry to pass. But Justin's attitude seems to have been -- why should I? and instead he's spent the better part of two months blaming and vilifying others.

Well, it's too late for sorry now. Even his boldest supporters have to see what he is, and if they want to soil themselves and keep him afloat, so be it, but I think even average Canadians are shocked at his utter disregard for the law and for us.

Attempts to paint people as racist or homophobic aren't going to float this time around, because they're aimed at all of us this time -- because all of us see through his charade of 'nice'. He never was nice. He could seem nice because he was rarely challenged and he lives a life of absolute unmitigated privilege. Anyone could seem nice if they never had to work or worry. He doesn't understand real-life stress - and now that he's facing some challenges - he's made some very suspect decisions.

I've never been a fan of Justin Trudeau, but it bothers me how easily he waltzed in, charmed the world and decided he could do all the wrong things because he was just so sure that he had all the right reasons.

It was too easy for him to take the helm of this country when he'd never done a serious thing in his life. And he still doesn't see that it's time for him to go. He's still trying to find ways to blame everyone else. I used to hope he was trounced come election time, but he's doing so much damage, I hope for once in his life he does the right thing and resigns.

Angry Liberals have to start aiming their venom in the right direction.

You do realize that your few paragraphs on JT's life , work experience , privilege etc are the same things one could say about Harper.
Neither one had to starve for anything.

Harper lived in Leaside and went to public schools, was raised by average parent. If you don’t see the difference between his upbringing and that of Justin Trudeau, or if you profess not to, you’re being obtuse.

Harper might never have starved, but it was his own education and intellect that took him to where he went. Trudeau became PM because of the speed that created him.

Sperm—not speed.

Born in Leaside until middle school and moved to Richmond Gardens, an upper middle class suburb. Attended Richview CI .

His first job out of Uni was in the mailroom at his dads company , Imperial Oil.
He then left for the west and never had a job in the private sector again.

Harper and " his own education and intellect that took him to where he went" is all well and fine.
Where did it take him? To the top , and a pretty good leader.

And Justin? Where did it take him? To the top.

Is it good for one and not for the other?

One may , and will, criticize the PM for bad decisions all they want (theres enough out there) , but to use some silly notion of work experience and privilege for one and not the other seems.....rather baseless .

You’re welcome to your opinion, but like I already said, equating the two on any level makes no sense. It isn’t simply lack of work experience, it’s lack of substance. Trudeau is stupid. His last name is the only thing that put him where he is.

Sorry.

Stupid ? No no...stupid is using the same metrics but ascribing different results.

One can indeed equate the two on many levels as regards their upbringing. Privileged, monied, and so forth.

It was merely an attempt to point out to you that your parameters were faulty. That you make no attempt to defend it suggest it was a poorly thought out exercise to begin with. (ya know...apart from that "..makes no sense." attempt)

No. Stupid is posting a comment on a blog post about Justin Trudeau and whining ...'But Stephen Harper."

I had no parameters. YOU set the parameters by making a comparison between the two. I said Justin Trudeau has no credentials to be PM. I stand by that.

I was polite enough to indulge your bullshit, but I'm done now.

Oh... and don't come onto my blog and call me stupid.

Silly response .

You set the parameters in your blog, now you deny reality.

Just for show...You said "..he lives a life of absolute unmitigated privilege. Anyone could seem nice if they never had to work or worry. He doesn't understand real-life stress - "

I wondered who else could have had the same life to some degree. And I laugh because your response is the same as others who have been , well ....silly or if you prefer, stupid to do so.

Hoisted on your own petard .

For the record, I never called you stupid. That you think someone did, I can see where the disconnect is.

"Stephen Harper worked for his Dad's oil company"?! LOL! I can't believe you wrote that! Imperial Oil was NOT owned by Harper's Dad or any other individual. Harper Pere worked as a salaried employee of Imperial, and he wasn't the CEO.

He may have helped get his Son a job at Imperial, just like thousands of Fathers in Canada get their Son his first job at the place where they work, but Stephen started at the bottom and worked his way up from the mail room, which the Progressives love to sneer at,but ordinary people whose Dad isn't the CEO start at the bottom.Harper DID work his way up to the computer division of Imperial Oil in Calgary.

Did you know Pierre Trudeau's Son Justin got his first job working for Katimavik,a program started by Pierre? Fathers help sons, and if Justin had stayed an employee of Katimavik we'd all be a lot better off.

Stupid lying journalists got him elected because stupid people still believe journalists.

dmorris- Yes, he did in fact move up from the mailroom as you point out but it was all low level clerk stuff.(certainly nothing wrong w it either)
And no his dad was not CEO and I did not mean to suggest he was.
The point, and the only one, is the writer suggested a lousy history of work experience and an undeserved rise in prominence for the PM.

I merely suggested that what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Our PM has lots to criticize , demonizing his upbringing is silly.
